Vassily Sinaisky returns to the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra

Vassily Sinaisky returns to the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra for an all-Russian programme on 23 June at the St Petersburg Philharmonia, as part of its International Festival. The concert includes a first half of Tchaikovsky, including his Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy; the second half is Shostakovich’s Symphony No.14, with soloists Anna Nechaeva and Petr Migunov.
Sinaisky enjoys a long-standing relationship with this orchestra and conducts them every season.

Vassily Sinaisky returns to Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra with Daniil Trifonov as soloist

Vassily Sinaisky conducts the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin at the Berliner Philharmonie on 22 May. He conducts Tchaikovsky�s Piano Concerto No.1 with soloist�Daniil Trifonov�in the first half. A great conductor of English symphonic music, Sinaisky closes the concert with Elgar�s Symphony No.2.In 2009, Sinaisky conducted this work at the�BBC Proms with the BBC Philharmonic, of which he was then Principal Guest Conductor. The Guardian descbribed Sinaisky as �alive to [the Elgar�s] tender moments without lapsing into sentimentality, or losing sight of the larger picture�.

Sinaisky has a regular relationship with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin and returns after a hugely successful performance in 2012 of Shostakovich�s Symphony No.8. The review of this performance on RBB KulturRadio�commented that Sinaisky �certainly proved his great quality during this performance of Shostakovich�s 8th Symphony, creating tension, brilliance and drawing the finest possible playing from the RSB�.
Also in May, Sinaisky returns to Tokyo to conduct two Russian-focused programmes with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. The first programme, performed on 10 May at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and 12 May at Suntory Hall, sees Sinaisky working once again with pianist�Denis Kozhukhin�in Rachmaninov�s Piano Concerto No.2, with a second half of Stravinsky�s Pulcinella Suite, alongside�The Firebird. The second programme is Prokofiev�s Symphony No.1 �Classical�, then his Violin Concerto No.2 with soloist Vadim Gluzman; in the second half, Sinaisky (described by the Guardian�in February as �a fine Straussian�, following his all-Strauss concert with the BBC Philharmonic) conducts Richard Strauss�s Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche�and�Der Rosenkavalier�Suite. This performance at Suntory Hall on 17 May is recorded by Nippon TV for deferred broadcasting.

Vassily Sinaisky steps in to conduct Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg in Russia

Vassily Sinaisky�conducts the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg on its tour to Russia, with concerts Moscow�s Tchaikov
The first concert programme includes Dvo?�k Symphony No.8, with a first half of Johann Strauss�Tales from the Vienna Woods Waltz�and Chopin Piano Concerto No.2, with soloist Nikolai Lugansky. The second concert features Berlioz Symphonie fantastique preceded by the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Baiba Skride.
Sinaisky has had a long regular relationship with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, and these performances mark his return after their last collaboration in the 2011/12 season.

Vassily Sinaisky makes his debut with Vienna Symphony Orchestra

Vassily Sinaisky�makes his debut with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in two concerts at the Vienna Konzerthaus on 22 and 23 January. The programme features two Russian pieces; Tchaikovsky�Romeo and Juliet�and Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.1 in E-flat major with cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. The concert ends with Dvo?�k Symphony No.9 ‘From the New World’.
Sinaisky is stepping in for indisposed Estonian-American conductor Neeme J�rvi.

Vassily Sinaisky conducts The Flying Dutchman at the Bolshoi

A revived production of�The Flying Dutchman�opens at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow under the music direction of�Vassily Sinaisky on 16 October. This co-production between the Russian theatre and the Bavarian State Opera, with the stage direction of Peter Konwitschny, was premiered in 2004 and has been revived this season to celebrate the Wagner bicentenary.
Beside the first evening, Sinaisky will conduct the performances on 17, 18, 20, 22 and 24 October on the theatre�s new stage.

Vassily Sinaisky returns to US to conduct three concerts with Cleveland Orchestra

Vassily Sinaisky�s series of subscription concerts with the Cleveland Orchestra have been enthusiastically received in the press. The�Cleveland Plain Dealer praised the performances, commenting:
�Talk about bringing music to life. In the case of conductor Vassily Sinaisky [on] Thursday, the old idiom held true almost literally. Every artist animates a score through performance. Sinaisky, however, endowed his Cleveland Orchestra program with physical, three-dimensional traits, such that one felt practically surrounded, able not only to hear but almost to touch the music. And yet for all the boldness of his performances, Sinaisky, music director of Moscow�s Bolshoi Theatre and conductor emeritus of the BBC Philharmonic, was also a consummate collaborator, guiding without domineering and enabling the ensemble to shine.�

Vassily Sinaiskymarks the end of the 68th Prague Spring Festival on 2 June with a performance of Stravinsky�s�The The Russian conductor and the Czech Philharmonic will celebrate the centenary of Stravinsky�s groundbreaking composition in a programme that also includes Dvo?�k�s�Carnival, Op. 92 and Josef Suk�s�Serenade in E flat major.

Vassily Sinaisky makes debut with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia

Vassily Sinaisky�makes his debut conducting the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome this March, replacing an indisposed Yuri Termikanov. The four concerts will take place on 9, 10, 11 and 12 March.
The programme includes Prokofiev�s Symphony No.1 ‘Classical’, Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 with soloist Denis Matsuev and a suite from Prokofiev�sCinderella.
These concerts follow Sinaisky�s highly successful visit to the Orchestre National de France, conducting two programmes including Sibelius Symphony No.1 and Dvo?�k Symphony No.8 in Paris and on tour to Athens.

Vassily Sinaisky returns to the US for four concerts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic

This month sees�Vassily Sinaisky�returning to the US where he will conduct four concerts with the LA Philharmonic.
The programme is made up of Holst�s�The Planets�where Sinaisky will be joined by Women of Pacific Chorale, Liadov�s Eight Russian Folk Songs and Prokofiev�s Violin Concerto No. 2, performed by�Leonidas Kavakos.
The first three concerts will take place at Walt Disney Concert Hall on 10, 11 and 12 January with the final concert on the 13 January taking place at McCallum Theatre, Palm Desert.
