Vassily Sinaisky returns to the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra

Vassily Sinaisky returns to the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra for an all-Russian programme on 23 June at the St Petersburg Philharmonia, as part of its International Festival. The concert includes a first half of Tchaikovsky, including his Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy; the second half is Shostakovich’s Symphony No.14, with soloists Anna Nechaeva and Petr Migunov.
Sinaisky enjoys a long-standing relationship with this orchestra and conducts them every season.

Vassily Sinaisky returns to Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra with Daniil Trifonov as soloist

Vassily Sinaisky conducts the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin at the Berliner Philharmonie on 22 May. He conducts Tchaikovsky�s Piano Concerto No.1 with soloist�Daniil Trifonov�in the first half. A great conductor of English symphonic music, Sinaisky closes the concert with Elgar�s Symphony No.2.In 2009, Sinaisky conducted this work at the�BBC Proms with the BBC Philharmonic, of which he was then Principal Guest Conductor. The Guardian descbribed Sinaisky as �alive to [the Elgar�s] tender moments without lapsing into sentimentality, or losing sight of the larger picture�.

Sinaisky has a regular relationship with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin and returns after a hugely successful performance in 2012 of Shostakovich�s Symphony No.8. The review of this performance on RBB KulturRadio�commented that Sinaisky �certainly proved his great quality during this performance of Shostakovich�s 8th Symphony, creating tension, brilliance and drawing the finest possible playing from the RSB�.
Also in May, Sinaisky returns to Tokyo to conduct two Russian-focused programmes with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. The first programme, performed on 10 May at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and 12 May at Suntory Hall, sees Sinaisky working once again with pianist�Denis Kozhukhin�in Rachmaninov�s Piano Concerto No.2, with a second half of Stravinsky�s Pulcinella Suite, alongside�The Firebird. The second programme is Prokofiev�s Symphony No.1 �Classical�, then his Violin Concerto No.2 with soloist Vadim Gluzman; in the second half, Sinaisky (described by the Guardian�in February as �a fine Straussian�, following his all-Strauss concert with the BBC Philharmonic) conducts Richard Strauss�s Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche�and�Der Rosenkavalier�Suite. This performance at Suntory Hall on 17 May is recorded by Nippon TV for deferred broadcasting.

Vassily Sinaisky steps in to conduct Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg in Russia

Vassily Sinaisky�conducts the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg on its tour to Russia, with concerts Moscow�s Tchaikov
The first concert programme includes Dvo?�k Symphony No.8, with a first half of Johann Strauss�Tales from the Vienna Woods Waltz�and Chopin Piano Concerto No.2, with soloist Nikolai Lugansky. The second concert features Berlioz Symphonie fantastique preceded by the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Baiba Skride.
Sinaisky has had a long regular relationship with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, and these performances mark his return after their last collaboration in the 2011/12 season.

Vassily Sinaisky makes his debut with Vienna Symphony Orchestra

Vassily Sinaisky�makes his debut with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in two concerts at the Vienna Konzerthaus on 22 and 23 January. The programme features two Russian pieces; Tchaikovsky�Romeo and Juliet�and Shostakovich Cello Concerto No.1 in E-flat major with cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. The concert ends with Dvo?�k Symphony No.9 ‘From the New World’.
Sinaisky is stepping in for indisposed Estonian-American conductor Neeme J�rvi.
